Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, OCD, is an anxiety disorder characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors such as hand washing, counting, checking, or cleaning are often performed with the hope of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away. Performing these so-called "rituals," however, provides only temporary relief, and not performing them markedly increases anxiety.

People with OCD may be plagued by persistent, unwelcome thoughts or images, or by the urgent need to engage in certain rituals. They may be obsessed with germs or dirt, and wash their hands over and over. They may be filled with doubt and feel the need to check things repeatedly. Many people who have OCD know what they are doing is taking its toll on them, but they still feel the need to do it anyway.

Those challenged with OCD have difficulty with daily activities which makes life difficult for them. These difficulties can evolve and develop into matter such as always wanting to be perfect, indecision, socializing problems, discouragement, procrastinating, and so on.

Hypnotherapy can assist you in taking control of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors because it quickly gets to the roots of the obsession. and helps to reframe it. It is also useful in helping you regulate your own body chemistry, thus helping you avoid or reduce dependence on SRIs.

Testimonial

I believe that I have made significant progress in overcoming my procrastination.  It has amaz-ed me that a little change makes a big improvement.  I have tried without success in the past to work around this limitation until today.  Since my last visit, I have moved our office, redecorated my basement, in the process of learning and new CAD program and am starting a new business partner-ship. This has offered me significant improvement in my lifestyle as I find my-self spending more time with my wife and family....  Edward
